The Plan to End the HIV Epidemic | End HIV Dallas County

The Plan to End the HIV Epidemic by 2030

Our goal is to educate our sexually active community about how to prevent and treat HIV. We’re offering and encouraging education, preventative measures, and free testing. Are you using injection drugs? We’ve got resources for that, too. Dallas County is here to help you stay safe and healthy. Our end goal is simple: end new diagnoses by 2030. In addition to our mission, there is a national plan in place which can be viewed here. But we have to follow the steps to get there: Test. Talk. Treat.

We need to tackle tough topics and difficult conversations about HIV, not avoid them. When you talk, you learn. Share resources with your friends, family, co-workers—everyone!

TO MAKE MOVEMENT IN THE FIGHT AGAINST HIV
AND END ALL NEW DIAGNOSES, WE HOPE TO SEE:

90%

reduction in the annual number of Texans with new HIV infections by 2030.

90%

of people living with HIV (PLWH) know their status.

90%

of PLWH who know their status are on antiretroviral therapy (ART).

90%

of those on ART achieve viral suppression.

An increase in the proportion of people with the greatest vulnerability of acquiring HIV who receive combination prevention.
